In The Know:
Protect Yourself Against the Flu
|
Fallon Clinic has completed all of its adult seasonal flu clinics and many of its pediatric clinics as well. We realize that not all of our patients have received the seasonal vaccine; but due to manufacturing delays, we do not have adequate quantities to schedule visits for the seasonal influenza vaccine at this time. We anticipate getting additional supplies of the seasonal flu vaccine in the near future. Fortunately, there is no seasonal influenza disease in the state at this time. Please check this website frequently for updated seasonal flu vaccine information. We thank you for your patience.
Fallon Clinic receives the H1N1 flu vaccine from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, which has so far distributed only a very limited quantity of the vaccine. We have no way of predicting when additional H1N1 vaccine will arrive. If we receive an adequate supply of vaccine, we will be scheduling H1N1 vaccination clinics, which will be publicized on this website, on this phone message, and at our sites.
Currently, we are using our limited number of H1N1 vaccine doses for patients who are in the high-risk groups as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These groups are:
- Pregnant women
- People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
- Health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient care
- Children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years of age
- Individuals from 5-19 years of age who are at high risk due to chronic health disorders such as compromised immune systems, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, kidney failure, or neurological problems
If you or your child is in one of these groups, we will attempt to provide the vaccine, but our ability to do this is dependent on our supply, which is very limited at this time and we cannot predict future deliveries. If you or your child are in one of the high-risk groups listed above, please call your medical provider.
If you are not in a high-risk group, please do not call our office, but rather check this website frequently for updates on current H1N1 vaccination guidelines and supplies. This message will be updated weekly.
Please look at the links on this page to learn more about seasonal and H1N1 flu.

Please Note: If you present at a Fallon Clinic site with flu-like symptoms, you may be asked to wear a mask for the duration of your visit. This helps to avoid the spread of germs. |
