Fallon Clinic Announces Agreement with Diagnostic Health Corporation to Proceed
with Purchase of Worcester Imaging Facility
WORCESTER, Mass., October 11, 2007 — Fallon Clinic announces today that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Birmingham, Alabama-based Diagnostic Health Corporation (DHC) to proceed with the purchase of DHC’s diagnostic imaging center located at 300 Grove Street in Worcester, formerly known as HealthSouth. Pending the successful execution of the purchase and sales agreement, Fallon Clinic is expected to take ownership by January 1, 2008.
With this purchase, Fallon Clinic will expand its existing diagnostic imaging capabilities by adding Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to its existing array of imaging services. The non-profit company currently offers imaging services at its Gold Star Boulevard location in Worcester, including mammography, ultrasound and CT scan. Additionally, the Clinic offers imaging capabilities in some of its other 26 clinical locations throughout Central Massachusetts.
“Rapid access to high-quality imaging services continues to be a challenge in central Massachusetts. With the purchase of DHC’s Worcester imaging center, we feel that we can bring enhanced imaging services to the region,” says Dr. Stephen Pezzella, acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fallon Clinic. “Over the next few months we will be working closely with DHC to implement a seamless transition. Beyond this transition phase, our goal will be to improve access and bring in new, state-of-the-art equipment that will meet the growing imaging needs of patients and of physicians who refer to the Grove Street facility.”
