Eric Berkowitz Joins Fallon Clinic's Board of Trustees
WORCESTER, Mass., July 8, 2008 — Fallon Clinic, the largest multi-specialty group practice in Central Massachusetts, has added a new member to its Board of Trustees, Eric N. Berkowitz, Ph.D. Dr. Berkowitz brings extensive business knowledge to this position, particularly in the area of healthcare marketing.
Dr. Berkowitz, associate dean for professional programs at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts (UMASS), is a renowned healthcare marketing expert who has held both leadership and academic teaching positions at UMASS and the University of Minnesota. Currently chairman of the board of trustees at Cooley Dickenson Hospital in Northampton MA, Dr. Berkowitz has also served on several other boards including advisory board of the Health Care Center at Case Western Reserve University and Patient.edu, a patient education software company. Dr. Berkowitz has authored and contributed to many healthcare and marketing books including, Essentials of HealthCare Marketing and Healthcare Marketing Strategy: From Planning to Action and has served as editor of such prestigious publications as the Journal of Healthcare Marketing and Trendwatcher. Dr. Berkowitz has been recognized by both UMASS and University of Minnesota with “Teacher of the Year” awards. In addition to teaching at UMASS, Dr. Berkowitz lectures extensively across the country and is currently serving on the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) faculty, as well as on the editorial review board of The Healthcare Strategist.

Dr. Berkowitz earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts. He received a doctorate degree from Ohio State University.
